This creative journaling workshop offers prompts and practices for stress regulation and creative expression. Veterans will be given the opportunity to express themselves using tools such as sketches, colors, words, and more. Each veteran will receive a book binding kit and build their own personal journal which they will keep. Afterwards, they will be lead through a variety of journaling exercises which engage all of the senses, and have the option to share stories, dreams, memories, goals, and more. All sharing opportunities will be optional. Anything shared will be kept confidential.
This workshop will be held in a supportive environment with emphasis on active listening amidst other veteran participants. Activities will be both solo and collaborative ones, with the purpose of increasing wellbeing, healing, and personal growth with oneself, and others.
Activities will include but not be limited to: mindful reflection through art-making, stress regulation techniques, yoga and breathing practices, and more. Veterans will leave this enriching experience feeling more centered and empowered after engaging all the senses to record everyday life, life changing events, travels, things remembered, and future goals or dreams.
No previous journaling, yoga, or other artistic experience is necessary. Please RSVP below to reserve your spot!
